GHEC Public Schools
November 2025 Building Bond Referendum
Granada Huntley East Chain (GHEC) School District seeks to be a leading and innovative school district that prepares students to thrive today and excel tomorrow. To accomplish our mission, we must provide adequate space and educational programs and services for our students to learn and grow, regardless of the path they take. We are proud of our small community school and emphasize being a place where everyone matters.
Since Fall 2023, we have gone through a long-range planning process to understand our facility and educational needs. This collaborative process led the school board to propose a fiscally-responsible plan that positions our facility and operations for the long-term future.
On or before Tuesday, November 4, residents will consider two ballot questions.
QUESTION ONE
Question One asks residents to consider an $8.745 million building bond referendum to renovate and expand the Career and Technical Education (CTE) and agriculture shop, add two general education classrooms, renovate and expand the existing kitchen and servery area, and address deferred maintenance items including renovating the old girls’ and boys’ locker rooms, parking lot improvements, and more.
QUESTION TWO
Question Two asks residents to approve a new, reduced operating levy to maintain our staff, educational programs, and services.
Both questions are non-contingent, meaning either one or both questions can pass without the approval of the other.
We encourage residents to use this website to learn more about our challenges, the proposed plan, the tax impact, how to vote, and more. Election Day is Tuesday, November 4, and early/absentee voting is available either in person or by mail starting Friday, September 19. We are committed to timely and transparent communications with residents over the next several months, and we encourage all residents to be informed and engaged.
Together, we are committed to providing adequate and appropriate space and educational programs and services for our students to learn and grow.
